Don’t throw that leftover pasta away! This is a simple and gourmet-looking recipe that will make good use of that extra cooked pasta. If wanted, you may alter parts of this recipe to try having it with different complementary ingredients.


1 cup of chopped mushrooms

3 tbsp butter

2 tbsp flour

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp salt

Ground black pepper

1 cup of milk

2 cups leftover pasta

2 cups of cooked cubed chicken

2 sliced green onions

1 ¼ cups of grated cheddar cheese (+ optional extra to serve with)

2 eggs

Bread crumbs

How to prepare:

Oil a 12-cup muffin pan.

Cook mushrooms in butter in medium heat for around 2 min.

Stir in flour, garlic powder, salt and black pepper.

Stir in milk until mixture thickens.

Remove from oven top.

Mix in leftover pasta, chicken, green onions, grated cheddar cheese and beaten eggs.

Carefully pour (use a spoon to help you out) into muffin cups.

Top with grated cheddar and breadcrumbs.

Bake in a 200°C oven for 20 minutes.

Let it cool for 15 minutes – then serve.
